Seattle

After stuffing three suitcases, two carry-ons, a computer and a medical bag into K.J.'s car, we left for Seattle, May 25. Our Northwest flight from Minneapolis was delayed by rain but otherwise uneventful. Megan met us at the airport and took us to spend the night at her place in Silverdale. Friday morning we went to Walmart for last minute incidentals, did the coffee drive thru, and then took the 9 a.m. Bremerton ferry to Seattle. The crossing was calm. As we sipped our coffee we got to see an Orca break the surface of the water in front of the ferry. When we came off the ferry, Megan deftly drove us straight to the pier. We got to the port terminal with no trouble and began the embarkation process with Holland America Line for an Alaskan Explorer cruise on the Zaandam. We had boodles of luggage since we will need winter clothes. The porter quickly got our bags squared away and we speedily made it through the check-in process.
